For this sale to be successful we need many volunteers! Volunteer opportunities are open to both Trussville First Methodist Church members and community members. Please read the information below and consider contributing your time as a volunteer.  Volunteers get to SHOP EARLY (before the public or regular consignors) on WEDNESDAY at the times listed below:

  • 10 am - 20+ Hour Volunteers (Lead Volunteers)

  • 11 am - 16-18 Hour Volunteers / Meal Team / Sorting Team (8 Hour Shift)

  • 12 pm - 12-14 Hour Volunteers

  • 1 pm - 8-10 Hour Volunteers

  • 2 pm - 4-6 Hour Volunteers

  • 3 pm - 2 Hour Volunteers

*All volunteers will need to wear a FMCT Children’s Consignment Sale t-shirt. These can be purchased at the volunteer station for $5.

WHY VOLUNTEER???

Our sale mission of the church to provide affordable children’s clothing to both church members and members of the community. By volunteering, you are giving yourself and others the opportunity to both consign and shop!

There is a great incentive for helping: Volunteers get to register first, and they get to shop first, even before consignors! Volunteers are able to shop on Wednesday of sale week at the times listed above.

Volunteer FAQs

  • You will sign up online for a time to that is convenient for you to come work our sale.

    Depending on the day and time which you sign up, you could be helping with one or more of the following tasks:

     Receiving items from consigners

     Sorting through items/quality control

     Sale set up/breakdown

     Stocking/restocking items

     Checkout

  • Anyone can volunteer!! Women, men, grandparents… there is a place for you! You do not have to consign to volunteer and you do not have to shop to volunteer. (Although you may do both if you wish!)

    Send your husband and get your hours! We have several heavy lifting shifts available on the sign up. We need men to help with set up on Sunday and breakdown on Saturday. Lifting/moving help is also needed when unloading vehicles Sunday through Tuesday.

    **NOTE: VOLUNTEER HOURS ARE TRANSFERRABLE BETWEEN IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS. Parent to Child; Spouse to Spouse. If you plan to transfer hours, please let us know at volunteer check in.

     Example 1: Grandma volunteers 4 hours and consigner volunteers 6 hours. Consigner may shop at the 10 Hour volunteer shop time.

     Example 2: Husband volunteers 1 hour at set up or receiving and wife volunteers 4 hours during the public sale. Wife may shop under the 5 hour volunteer shop time.

  • Visit our website tmccsale.com. Go to the “Registration/Login” tab, then choose “Volunteer Sign-Up.” From there, follow the prompts.

    We want everyone who would like to volunteer to have the opportunity. If you have a tight schedule and the only time you can work is not available, please contact us at tmccsale@gmail.com and we will see if we can work something out for you.

    Note: We ask all volunteers to arrive 10 minutes early to visit our Volunteer Check In area.

  • Volunteers will be asked to purchase a TFM Children’s Consignment Sale T-shirt. The T-shirt must be worn during your volunteer shift(s).

    *If you purchased a shirt during the Fall 2023 sale, that is the current shirt. Please wear it!

    * If you are volunteering for any set up or breakdown shift, you do NOT need a shirt.

    *Shirts will be available to purchase when you come for your shift. Cash, check or Venmo are accepted. Make checks payable to TFM Children’s Consignment.

    *Your first t-shirt is available at a discounted rate of $5. Additional t-shirts can be purchased at the cost of $10.

  • No, there will not be childcare provided for this sale.
